Mom of 3 & Self-Taught Designer/Developer

Anna Maria Yates

Hi! My name is Anna Maria Yates, and I'm a branding graphic designer and web developer. I'm a stay-at-home mom and part-time freelancer helping people grow their brands through design and code. My clients include small businesses, non-profits, schools, political campaigns, and the Church. I have over 10 years of experience working on websites. I learned to code after being frustrated with overseas web development outsourcing.

I learned about web development while working on Capitol Hill. That experience ignited a passion I didn't know existed. Eventually, I made the switch to full-time graphic and web design freelancing, teaching myself new skills while taking on projects. When I became a stay-at-home mom in 2020, I freelanced here and there but realized I needed a part-time schedule to have the right balance for my family and clients.

I'm so excited to get back to working consistently! I'm so grateful my children inspired me to keep chasing this dream. I marvel at their curiousity with user interfaces and code editors. As their generation grows up with so much technology, they have motivated me to focus on creating wholesome digital experiences that help children reach their full potential.

I hope to be a resource for stay-at-home moms who are interested in web development. I want to help them see they can positively impact the world while prioritizing their families.

I enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, DIY, thrifting, vintage jazz, and leading Northern Calvert Catholic Moms. Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to get in touch!

Life-Giving Wounds Website

This ministry helps Catholic adult children of divorce and separation find healing through retreats and resources. I tweaked the logo and built the website to align well with its print branding. Most of my custom work was in the second navigation bar.

Holy Spirit STEM Academy Website

This academy fuses STEM education with the Catholic faith in the heart of Los Angeles. I made changes to the stylesheet to ensure it was on brand while structurally matching other STEM school websites in the archdiocese.

I can code solutions from scratch including landing pages and unique features.

Bootstrap; Marketo

This is one of many landing pages I coded for Ambu USA's secondary websites (now Single-Use Endoscopy). I coded templates that matched the main website using Chrome DevTools since there was no web brand guide.

I highly recommend Anna Maria Yates web design! She built a website for my start-up, non-profit Life-Giving Wounds, giving it instant credibility and beautiful visibility online. I love that she was able to build both a functional website that I could easily edit on my own time and personally customize it in code so that my pages (especially the home page!) did not look like the cookie-cutter websites you can build by yourself on online website builders. She also worked with me to develop an attractive, modern logo and a great branding color scheme. In addition to her coding knowledge and creativity, she was easy to get along with, friendly, hard-working, and entered into the passion and meaning of my project. On top of that, she was very affordable for start-ups like mine and completed my website in a quick and timely manner. For all of these reasons, she is the website designer you should hire and worth every penny! I look forward to using her in the future to continue to upgrade my website as my non-profit grows.
